About Dyna

Dyna Malamusi, born in Blantyre, Malawi, has been since 2006 associated with the Oral Literature Research Programme, Chileka and participated in ethnomusicological and story-telling research trips, notably to Mozambique, Zambia, Angola and Malawi.

Her fieldwork is part of the research centers’ endeavour to preserve cultural traditions in south-eastern Africa and elsewhere. Her fieldwork from 2012 till present, in the company of Prof. Regine Allgayer-Kaufmann, has been supported by the Austrian Science Fund, Vienna, in the context of research project P 28178-G24 “Comparative Study of Story-telling in four Bantu Languages” and Project P 23834-G15 “Individual History of east African Musician-Composers, directed by Prof. Dr. Gerhard Kubik, University of Vienna.

As a result of her field work she is presenting here some interesting and unique stories that have been told by local people in their  local languages and translated to english. The traditional dances and performances are in different local languages.
